My puppy keeps moving while pooping. Is this normal behavior?

This could be normal behavior - particularly the turning in circles and walking while defecating. Some dogs will do this when defecating for no particular reason. The whining is a bit more concerning and could be a sign of pain so it might be a good idea to have Trusty examined by your vet to make sure his anal glands and rectum seem normal.

It is definitely a mystery. Dog behavior is not totally understood, but it does seem that some dogs are more fastidiously cleaner than others. As long as everything else is normal, a little quirk here & there is what makes life so interesting! take care.

It likely is his diet. A lot of the holistic or grain free diets can cause excessive stool production. It isn't something that is a medical concern however, especially i the stools are normal consistency. Perhaps you can let him stay outside for a longer period of time so that he is allowed to completely empty his colon before coming back in. Otherwise, just keep an eye on Asian and I hope that he continues to do well. If his stools do change in consistency or have visible worms, then its best to take him to your vet for treatment. Hello. Probably not. Exercise can & will facilitate bowel movements, & the faster stool moves through the bowels, the less water is absorbed making the stools a little softer. This may be just normal for your pup. If anything changes, of course discuss this with your veterinarian, but if everything else is OK, I would not be too worried. Sometimes the pressure of defecating can stimulated the bladder, and if he is relaxing himself to poo he could concurrently be relaxing his bladder schinter muscle. It is certainly a nuisance but can happen. In a young dog I wouldn't worry too much about this but it would be a good idea to have him examined to ensure that nothing is causing unnecessary pressure in his back passage, such as a large prostate or full anal glands.

While uncommon, Jetsen's urination immediately followed by a bowel movement can still be normal. (One of my dogs also pooped on trees in his younger days.) As long as he is consciously having a bowel movement (i.e. posturing/squatting) and not simply having stool fall out while he is unaware of it, there should be no reason for concern.
