Is it normal for my puppy to whine, circle, and walk while pooping?

Some dogs just keep moving when they eliminate feces. The only reason I can see for that is that they are sort of disgusted with their own feces and therefore "run away from it" in order to not step in it. It also can just be a habit. Moving also helps loosen the stool so it can come out easier. It is nothing to worry about.

Poor Biscuit! It is possible she is a little constipated. If it happens again, she has pain or swelling around the anus, can't go potty at all, or has any other signs of illness, a vet visit is best. Making sure she's drinking enough water and eating an appropriate diet, and also wormed regularly may also help.

Your dog could have hip or back problems that make it painful to posture to defecate and would also make it hurt when her tail is manipulated. It could also be infected or inflamed anal glands. This condition is very painful and makes it difficult to defecate or even move. Without treatment, the gland may rupture, causing a open wound on your pet's rear that will require wound care and antibiotics as well as some pain relief. I recommend getting your pet seen by your vet. They will examine your pet, possibly do some x-rays and labwork and be able to give you a better idea of what is going on and how best to treat it.

It could be that the anal glands are inflamed from being full or from the pressure of being expressed. If it continues call your Vet they may just prescribe something over the phone or want to recheck him. I usually prescribe a steroid taper for things like this. Good luck!

Champ's increased defecation, especially if watery or with blood or mucus can be a sign of intestinal parasites, infection, or even a foreign body. It is also concerning that he is more vocal and not acting like himself. I recommend having him seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible to determine what is going on - you can bring a stool sample with you in a disposable container so that your vet can check for intestinal parasites. The circling and whining may be indicating she needs to go outside to eliminate. I recommend getting her seen by your vet to make sure there isn't some underlying medical condition that is causing her to suddenly need to relieve herself so early in the morning. If she is an older dog, she may simply be unable to hold it as long as she used to, but it's best to check her out at your vets to be safe. You might consider feeding her two meals a day, one at breakfast time and another late afternoon or evening. Make sure she goes outside right before bedtime and give her plenty of time to relieve herself. Dogs can be like people and do better when they are on a structured schedule with food.

It is not unusual for them to not poop for a couple days after going to a new home. I would not be overly worried about that just yet. Just make sure he is eating and drinking. Also, get him on a schedule of eating and going outside to use the bathroom so that is it very routine for him. I know it's hard but if you give in to his whining by giving him what he wants you will never get him trained so it is just best to ignore him when he whines. Try to re-direct his behavior with toys or something else that will distract him.
