What a cute pup! This may be something as benign as allergies or irritation from some other source, but I have also seen this problem in dogs that have scratches on their corneas. It is very important to determine which this is, because they are treated very differently. Corneal scratches are very painful, and can become infected and put your pup's vision at risk. I would schedule an appointment with your vet as soon as you can, so he can be treated. Your vet will likely put a yellow stain in both eyes to look for these scratches, and if there aren't any, they can give you drops to help with the discharge. Best of luck!
