My dog has a sore patch under his eye. Should I take him to the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | English Springer Spaniel | Male | unneutered | 50 lbs

Hi I have a 2 year old springer spaniel. He had a sore patch under his eye lid is this something to worry about?

That looks like it could be an infection, skin mites or perhaps ringworm (which humans can get). I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian if the lesion does not start getting better on it's own within the next few days. May sure he cannot rub the area and don't put anything on the area since it's so close to his eye. You can also have him examined sooner and not wait.

    There looks to be a skin infection around the eye in the outer eyelid. This could be yeast or bacteria. It will need to be treated at the vets, but you can bathe it with salted water in the mean time.
