My dog is peeing inside, strong ammonia smell, inflamed penis. Help!

The strong smell to his urine can be an indication of a UTI, and oftentimes there is blood in the urine but it is not visible to the naked eye, only under the microscope. I would have him seen by a vet first thing in the morning. The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests, and urinalysis to diagnose if he does have a UTI, and can prescribe medications for it as needed.

Hi, sorry to hear Oly isn't feeling well. There is a chance he can have a urinary tract infection, which will cause a dog to urinate frequently and in small amounts. This can be treated by a vet with antibiotics. I recommend bringing him to see a vet if these symptoms persist. There is no home remedy you can do for this. It is not an emergency unless he is not urinating or seems to be in pain. I suggest taking him to the vet tomorrow and bringing a urine sample if possible, or not allowing him to urinate at least an hour or so before the appointment so they can get a sample. It sounds like he might have an infection. Your vet can examine him and prescribe an antibiotic, if needed. If you see any discharge then you could clean it with a DOUXO® Chlorhexidine Pads and see if that helps. Otherwise, see if your vet can see him before Wednesday so treatment can be started.

Unfortunately the concerns is that there may be a urinary tract infection which needs to be treated with antibiotics. I recommend to get her into see the veterinarian and have her urine checked for infection or crystals as these can commonly show up like this. Sometimes very concentrated urine can smell stronger and in that instance, you want to increase the drinking. This can be achieved by adding water to the food but it sounds like she is already drinking a lot. Play it safe and have her urine checked to be sure. It's possible that Atlas responding to her hormones, even though he is neutered. However, yes, he could have a urinary tract infection, although they tend to be a bit uncommon in male dogs. The only way to tell for sure would be to have your vet run a urinalysis, and that is absolutely the first thing you should do, since Atlas will need antibiotics if that is the case. He could also have bladder stones, or less likely a prostate problem. Get him checked out ASAP.
