Why does my dog have musky urine and milky penis discharge? Infection?

I have a male cocker spaniel, 3 years old. The past 2 days I've noticed a very strong musky smell to his urine. No trouble urinating, no blood in the urine or visible discomfort urinating. He's eating and drinking fine and no change to his energy. He went to the groomer's on Thursday for a bath/cut and they expressed his anal glands. The smell is from the penis/urine, not his anal glands. Today I saw a drop of milky discharge from the penis. Could it be an infection? Or irritation from the bath?

The strong smell to his urine can be an indication of a UTI, and oftentimes there is blood in the urine but it is not visible to the naked eye, only under the microscope. I would have him seen by a vet first thing in the morning. The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests, and urinalysis to diagnose if he does have a UTI, and can prescribe medications for it as needed.

Hello, sorry to hear about Oscar. He could have an infection of his prepuce or penis. Additionally, he could have a UTI or urinary stones. Ideally, he should be examined by his veterinarian so that they can evaluate his penis, prepuce and look for evidence of stones or a UTI. He could have an infection causing the problem. A vet can test a urine sample to look for infection and other abnormalities. Besides, encouraging him to drink water to try and keep his urine more dilute, there really isn't much you can do at home without veterinary care. If he has an infection than he will need an antibiotic.
