My puppy had parvo, now has bloody nose. Is it a sinus infection?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 12 days old | 30 lbs

My puppy was diagnosed with parvo last Monday. He was injected at the vet and treated here at home with prescribed medication. Currently, his stool is back to normal, his vomiting stopped, and he is eating and drinking again. I noticed he has some mucus in his nose with a little blood. Could this be a sign of sinus infection? He’s taking antibiotic for parvo, should I take him back to the vet?

This isn't typical to see after a parvoviral infection, so it is possible that he has developed an unrelated upper respiratory infection. Another possibility could be that he regurgitated at some point and now has sinusitis. Regardless I would recommend seeing your vet so they can help determine the cause. Depending on the type of antibiotics he has been taking he may or may not need additional antibiotics.

I hate to hear that Fluffy is so sick. Yes, excessive fluids can cause a stuffy nose but this is usually a sign of too much fluids. In some instances (such as parvo), this may be an acceptable risk. It's also possible that his immune system is compromised and another virus (not another parvo virus) is taking effect. I recommend to have him seen again by a veterinarian who will listen to his lungs to make sure the fluid is not causing congestion there. The doctor may adjust the fluid volume if fluid over load looks to be the cause. I hope this helps to point you in the right direction. Please feel free to post any additional questions!

I'm sorry to hear that Bruno has been so sick. It is difficult for us to know what the problem is without more information and reviewing the blood work. A consultation may be more beneficial for you in that we can ask questions and you can upload the bloodwork for us to review. It is possible that Bruno is still fighting off parvovirus, but he may have also developed a new infection has parvo virus affects the immune system as well.

My new puppy's breath smells strong. Is it a symptom of Parvo?

There can definitely be an odor to parvo infected dogs but it is usually due to the bloody diarrhea they are experiencing and not their breath. I would be very cautious with your dog, however, if it is young and only a few weeks have passed since your had parvo positive puppies there, as it is likely still in the environment. If your dog shows any sign of illness at all (loose stools, low appetite, vomiting, lethargy), I would get to the vet right away.

My parvo survivor puppy is pooping water and vomiting white foam.

I am so sorry to hear that Sweety isn’t feeling well. Certainly bacterial infectionor a parasitic infection could be possible. However I would most concerned about a problem called intussusception which is a serious problem where the intestines telescope on themselves and cause an obstruction. My puppy recovered from Parvo. Are warm nose and ears normal?

A warm nose and warm ears are very nonspecific findings and I would pay more attention to his overall attitude, behavior and appetite. (A "dry nose" indicating that a dog is sick is also a myth). It sounds like he is playful, and eating and drinking well, so I would not be concerned. As long as he continues to act normally and have normal urination and bowel movements, and no vomiting, it sounds like he is well on the road to recovery! I hope this is helpful!

Unvaccinated puppy has bloody diarrhea. Is it parvo? What should I do?

It very well could be parvo. I suggest you get her to your vet ASAP for an exam and testing. You really need to know if it is parvo or not. Either way, your vet will help you determine the cause of the bloody diarrhea and give you treatment options. Then, once this diarrhea is cleared up you can get her started on her vaccines.
