My puppy had Parvo. What helps his runny nose and gurgling sounds?

This isn't typical to see after a parvoviral infection, so it is possible that he has developed an unrelated upper respiratory infection. Another possibility could be that he regurgitated at some point and now has sinusitis. Regardless I would recommend seeing your vet so they can help determine the cause. Depending on the type of antibiotics he has been taking he may or may not need additional antibiotics.

Poor Cody! The dry nose is likely a result of being through so much, he has likely been very dehydrated and I suppose the nose has been the least of the body's concern. You could apply an unscented moisturiser such as aqeous cream to the nose, rub it in well a few times a day and ir should help return the moisture. If the nose gets so dry that it cracks visit your vet.

A warm nose and warm ears are very nonspecific findings and I would pay more attention to his overall attitude, behavior and appetite. (A "dry nose" indicating that a dog is sick is also a myth). It sounds like he is playful, and eating and drinking well, so I would not be concerned. As long as he continues to act normally and have normal urination and bowel movements, and no vomiting, it sounds like he is well on the road to recovery! I hope this is helpful!

This is usually treated with antibiotics. I recommend that you have your pup evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This is a viral infection so there is no direct treatment for the virus so the treatment per se is directed at treating secondary bacterial infections and mostly helping with the clinical symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea and inappetence. This warrants ideally hospitalization with some cases being able to be managed with outpatient care depending on its severity. I recommend that you continue to follow up with a veterinarian who can institute therapy for Cleo as soon as possible. The quicker this condition gets treated the better the outcome tends to be. I am so sorry that your puppy passed and also that the other puppy was exposed. I am not sure what the raw egg is supposed to do here honestly. Eggs just have extra carbs and some protein. Parvovirus is a viral infection that is only treated with supportive care, which includes: fluid therapy, pain management, antibiotics and sometimes vitamin injections or anti-viral meds. If you suspect the new puppy has parvovirus with the same symptoms as the other puppy, then its best to take this pup in to get tested. Otherwise, i would continue to monitor this puppy and have his stool checked for just common intestinal parasites. He may just have worms if he is still otherwise eating well, no vomiting and has good energy. I hope that your pup Saiko gets well soon! Best wishes and take care.

Poor girl. There is no medication strictly for parvo, but treatment consists of supportive care medication such as antibiotics, anti-nausea medication (Cerenia), fluid therapy (subcutaneous or IV fluids), vitamin supplements, and if needed pain medication. These are all medications that will require a veterinary prescription. They are also all injectable medications in the beginning of treatment since most parvo pets will not tolerate anything given by mouth.
