Why is my dog's poop orange and he's also vomiting and not eating?

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Bear may have eaten something he wasn’t supposed to such as garbage, human food, or pieces of a toy. You should keep a close eye on him to ensure he doesn’t vomit again. If Bear continues to vomit, develops diarrhea or is not acting quite like himself, he should be seen by his vet as he may require medication and supportive care. In the meantime, I would hold off on giving Bear any food for about 12 hours and then reintroduce his normal diet slowly (about 1/2 his normal serving) I hope this helps and am happy to answer any other questions you may have!

The color of the stool is usually associated with something they are eating, but the yellow/orange color can sometimes be associated with liver disease. Since Marley does not seem to be responding to previous medical treatments, I would recommend that you discuss additional diagnostics with your vet. I would start with an intestinal parasite screening, and if that is negative, move on to bloodwork and/or a GI panel (specialized bloodwork). Occasionally all labs can be normal and surgical or endoscopic intestinal biopsies are needed.

Hello. An orange stool could be an indication of hemolysis ( destruction of RBCs ) or a possible gallbladder problem, or just the dye from something ingested. The mucous is usually a reaction to some irritation in the colon. If everything seems perfectly normal in how Mille acts & eats, you might just feed her a very bland diet ( 25% boiled chicken & 75% plain white rice ) for a couple of meals. If her stool self-corrects, then it was just something she got into. If it persists, you will need to have your veterinarian examine her to make sure all is OK. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I noticed in one of those pictures that his stool is really diarrhea and is black (which usually means a sign of bleeding). Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. In addition, black stools can be indicative of bleeding into the small intestine or stomach which can happen secondary to an ulcer for instance. Bloody urine can be the result of an infection, stones, tumors, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start him on medications to make him feel better and check his hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I don't think you need to bring her in. I think that the pineapple being orange has to do with in being in the stomach. And since the stool is brown inside that is normal. Just watch her closely for any diarrhea or continued vomiting with or with out blood. And If she isn't acting normal or not eating then I would have her seen. Good luck!

If Suzi still not eating any food and seems lethargic or has less energy, then I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate Diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. There may be something systemic going on that will require blood testing to reveal. Abdominal x-rays may also be something to consider for a work up.
