Magnesium hydroxide (the active ingredient in Mylanta) is contra-indicated in patients with certain diseases. It also interacts with a wide variety of prescriptions drugs, Accordingly, it should not be given unless recommended by a veterinarian who has full knowledge of the pet's complete medical history. Also, because Mylanta is a human medication, any use of it in animals if off-label and we are therefore legally unable to provide doses for such drugs without first examining the patient. I suggest you speak with your veterinarian regarding giving this drug to your pet and to obtain an appropriate dose.
