Is it safe to give my dog Tums or antacids for an upset tummy?

Can dog be given Tums or any antacid?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

We do use Tum for certain conditions in dogs. Rarely for tummy upset, usually for low calcium. The most common antacid used in animals is pepcid (famotidine). The medication and dosing has to be prescribed by a Vet that has examined your dog.
