My dog's head wobbles after I stepped on her. Should I see a vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Female | unspayed | 4 lbs

I accidentally stepped on my 4 lb poodle, her head was wobbling and couldn't stand long, she then sprinted around uncontrollably for a few minutes, she's been napping ever since, i think she may have seized up for 2 seconds, I don't know what to do or to expect, I don't know if I stepped on her head, I was steppi g off the last step of a ladder so there was decent force to whatever I stepped on

Poor Stella! I would be concerned you may have stepped on her head or neck given the symptoms you have described. I do think she needs to be seen by a vet for a physical exam and x-rays to be safe, but if she is resting and not showing the same symptoms you described, it can wait until the morning. If she wakes up and shows those same symptoms again, appears very painful, has difficulty walking, her eyes appear bloodshot, and/or she starts bleeding from the nose or mouth, take her into an ER vet immediately. I hope this helps!
