My puppy was hit. Why is her head up, drooling, and walking oddly?

I would be very worried that Cocoa sustained trauma to her brain, or to the nerves in her skull that correctly control things like eye position, head position, and walking. Even if she saw a vet right after the injury, she needs to urgently be rechecked, in order to determine her neurologic status and potentially start therapy that can hopefully correct these problems. This is quite urgent, and I'd recommend you get her seen ASAP.

Hello, if Bubby has an open fontanel on his skull (brain skull not completely formed), then this can cause pets to be confused. He could have hit his head hard enough to have a concussion as well. If he does not start to be more alert within the next 30 minutes, or if he develops additional signs such as seizure and trembling, disorientation, or is not responding then he should be seen immediately by a veterinarian. Head trauma is always a cause for concern. Since this happened yesterday, there should have been some improvement with your pup if he suffered an injury such as a mild concussion. I am so sorry this happened! It is so easy to do with such a little puppy and unfortunately I have seen it many times. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian immediately. This type of trauma can result in skull fractures, swelling or bleeding inside the brain, seizures, coma or death. Head trauma needs to be treated aggressively to try and prevent irreversible damage to the brain.
