What's the best deworming schedule for my dog, around vaccinations?

Hi, it is fine to give the two tablets together as a single dose. The dose is accurate for a 20 kg dog, how often your repeat it will depend on how frequently he comes in contact with parasites. Hello! We very routinely perform vaccines as well as give dewormers at the same visit. This should not be a problem as long as your puppy is healthy. We typically recommend 3 sets of vaccines (at 8, 12 and 16 weeks) and deworming every 2 weeks until they are over 4 months of age. Good job taking care of your puppy to keep him healthy!

Depending on what it is it is usually fine to give it that day. However if he was dewormed at the time of the appointment it may be best to wait. I recommend contacting your veterinarian when they're open tomorrow to ask/confirm when they want to give the medication

Hi, I would not repeat the dewormer dose as you do not want to overdose her on the dewormer. She should be dewormed again in 3 weeks to make sure you got the life cycle of all the parasites she may have. If she is not having diarrhea or weight loss she may not even have worms. There is not a need to deworm her before the vaccines, they will still work properly regardless of the worming. I would go to your vet for vaccines and bring a stool sample with you to see if they could check it for worms. Depending on what eggs they see, they might recommend a different dewormed like pyrantel or panacur (fenbendazole). Either way, i would not redose her because she is so small and it is easy to overdose them and make them sick. If your vet suggests something different, you can follow his or her instructions. HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think it is fine to give the tape worm dewormer 2-3 days after the distemper vaccine. That way if Oliver has any vomiting. diarrhea or change in appetite we know what did it-the vaccine or the dewormer. I hope this help!
