When to give puppy deworming medicine after first vet shots?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Alaskan Klee Kai | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 7 days old | 6.8 lbs

I got my puppy his first round of shots yesterday and the vet gave me a take up oral medication for deworming I believe. I just don't remember if she said to give it to him today or within a week?

Depending on what it is it is usually fine to give it that day. However if he was dewormed at the time of the appointment it may be best to wait. I recommend contacting your veterinarian when they're open tomorrow to ask/confirm when they want to give the medication
