My dog is on meds, can I still give her deworming treatment?

You can give a dewormer even though Lucy is antibiotics. If the worm burden is high enough, it can complicate her condition or delay recovery. Her recovery will depend on how sick she is right now. A mild pneumonia will resolve quicker than a severe infection. Keep her warm, stress free, hydrated and make sure she continues to eat.

I would check with your vet first to make sure it does not interfere with any other medications Kyah is on if she is still on a treatment for another stomach issue. If you don't know what type of worms Kyah has, you can bring a sample of her stool to your vet for testing so they can provide you with the correct deworming medication. If she is still having diarrhea even after a course of stomach medications, a recheck with your vet to rule out any other health issues such as food allergies, illnesses, GI problems, etc is also a good idea in addition.

That is not a typical side effect of a deworming treatment, and I would be concerned that something else is causing Lucy to behave this way such as an illness or injury. Keep a close eye on her for now. If this behavior continues over the next 30-60 minutes, gets worse, or she develops other signs such as disorientation, confusion, vomiting, or severe lethargy, take her into a vet right away. Depending on what it is it is usually fine to give it that day. However if he was dewormed at the time of the appointment it may be best to wait. I recommend contacting your veterinarian when they're open tomorrow to ask/confirm when they want to give the medication

If Peggy has a large worm burden (lots of worms) then she likely feels sick and doesn't want to eat, and likely won't want to eat until the worms are gone. If the medication that your vet gave is a dewormer (typically a liquid called Panacur/Fenbendazole), then you can give it without food. This might clear out the worms and get Peggy eating again. If the medication is an antibiotic (Metronidazole, Amoxyclav), then this needs to be given with food. You can also talk to your vet about trying an anti-nausea medication to see if this helps with the appetite. If Peggy has abdominal pain, or is vomiting, please have her seen right away as high worm burdens can lead to a very life-threatening condition called intussusception. I would not deworm him when he is not feeling well unless you have a specific diagnosis that he needs the dewormer (example: a fecal test was run and you know he has roundworms). I would wait until he is feeling better.
