My dog has blood in his eye after dental surgery, is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 15 lbs

My chi had 7 teeth extracted yesterday and I noticed last night he has blood all around the whites of one of his eyes. My vet is off today and I am worried

Watch for any squinting of the eye. Could be a side effect of anesthesia. Their eyes have ointment put into them for anesthesia because they do not close their eyes when sedated and they can dry out. They could have gotten dry. If you have any saline eye drops or artificial tears you could try that today and then call your vet when they are open again
