My puppy went fully blind after room was bleached. Is it the bleach?

For that reason, it would be best to have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment if you are concerned. Otherwise, she may be ok. I am so very sorry to hear about the fire and the loss of your pets. In terms of her eyes, without knowing the actual diagnosis of what is going on with them we cannot really make a recommendation. I would recommend having her vet examine the eyes if they have not already. Some damage unfortunately is permanent, but without knowing the issue we cannot say. There is not likely to be an over the counter product that is going to make a change though, so the vet visit is truly your best option. Blindness in one eye would be very unlikely as a direct result of parvo (indeed if the developing eye was affected then both eyes would be expected to be attacked by the virus). There are many possible causes of blindness and severe infection or inflammation of any sort can occasionally cause inflammation and damage to the back of the eye. There are many other possible causes and I would recommend assessment by an ophthalmologist to determine the underlying cause and if any preventive measures should be taken to preserve sight in the other eye

If a dog is infected with an intestinal worm such as the roundworm, coming into contact with infected feces may increase risk of becoming infected with this parasite. Transmission is through the fecal-oral route, meaning you have to accidentally ingest infective round worm eggs. The parasite can migrate to organs including the eye which can lead to blindness. However terrifying this may sound, this is actually pretty rare in people in general, but does occur more often in small children and babies who tend to put a lot of things in their mouths and not wash their hands frequently. Having your pet dewormed regularly and getting their stools checked once or twice a year can help prevent this infection in both animals and people. Practicing good hygiene such as hand washing after cleaning up after your pet and certainly before eating dramatically reduces risk of infection. I hope this helps!

Oh dear, poor Shitzy! Bleach can certainly cause significant irritation to the respiratory tract if inhaled, skin or eyes upon contact. Shitzy will need to go to the vet for evaluation, particularly since he has been wheezing and having respiratory changes. Eyes are also delicate structures and can change rapidly, so his vet will be able to determine which medication is most appropriate for his condition. I hope that all goes well!

Lucy needs to be examined by the veterinarian this morning. Bleach will burn her cornea. This is painful and can quickly lead to an infection of the cornea. You will need to wash the bleach off her coat as well (because she may ingest the bleach trying to groom herself) and get her to the veterinarian quickly. If the bleach did burn her eye, she will feel more comfortable with the medication. Quickly wash the bleach off her coat and then have her examined. I hope this helps. It sounds like your pet Daisy has a very common situation here which is a chemical burn or scratch on her cornea (surface of her eye). This is common after being groomed because shampoo or condition can get on the eye and isn't washed off properly or promptly. Poor girl. I would recommend taking her to your local vet as soon as you can to get her eye examined, tested and treated.
