My puppy went fully blind after room was bleached. Is it the bleach?
Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
It is hard to say what the cause it of the total blindness is without examining Ann first and doing an eye exam on her. Ann may have genetic or congenital disorder of the eye(s) that is causing the blindness, especially if she was blind in one eye already at a young age. If the eye was directly exposed to bleach (bleach on the eye causing a chemical burn of the eye), that could cause blindness. While fumes from bleach can be irritating to the eye, it is unlikely the fumes from the bleach would have caused blindness. I would strongly encourage that Ann see her veterinarian soon to confirm the blindness in the eyes with an ocular exam. After an eye exam and physical exam are done, causes of the blindness can be determined and diagnosed with your veterinarian.
I hope this has helped and best of luck to you and Ann.
