Will my dog go blind after being sprayed by a pressure washer?

It is hard to say what the cause it of the total blindness is without examining Ann first and doing an eye exam on her. Ann may have genetic or congenital disorder of the eye(s) that is causing the blindness, especially if she was blind in one eye already at a young age. If the eye was directly exposed to bleach (bleach on the eye causing a chemical burn of the eye), that could cause blindness. While fumes from bleach can be irritating to the eye, it is unlikely the fumes from the bleach would have caused blindness. I would strongly encourage that Ann see her veterinarian soon to confirm the blindness in the eyes with an ocular exam. After an eye exam and physical exam are done, causes of the blindness can be determined and diagnosed with your veterinarian. I hope this has helped and best of luck to you and Ann.

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration or just general inflammation from a traumatic injury from playing with the sprinklers. I highly recommend that you have Tyson evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further therapy would be based on the findings. Good luck and best wishes!

Poor guy. He needs his eyes flushed copiously with eye irrigating solution. You can find this over the counter. It is a potential that he could develop a corneal ulcer due to the chemicals from the spray. Blindness is a potential but it is preventable as long as you monitor this closely. Monitor his eyes for redness, discharge (yellow/green), or irriation (pawing at the face). Have Bruno seen by your vet right away if these complications develop. For future, the fipronil sprays are not the best to use for tick prevention. I would instead recommend the Seresto collar, or oral flea/tick prevention (Nexgard, Bravecto) from your vet. For acute bites, you should use tweezers to remove the tick (must get the head and mouthparts) entirely. I hope that your fur baby Bruno does well moving forward. Take care! : )

Based on what you are describing, it definitely sounds like Princess sustained some trauma to her eye from the soap getting into it. If she is squinting her eye, she is definitely painful and should be seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Soap can cause superficial corneal ulcers to occur, which can rapidly worsen without treatment, especially if she is continuing to scratch at her eye and traumatize it further. Corneal ulcers, if left untreated, can become deeper and deeper to the point of causing the eye itself to rupture - if this occurs, the eye must be removed. If you have an Elizabethan collar (E-collar) at home, I recommend putting that her Princess right away to keep her from scratching at it. Please have Princess seen by your vet or an emergency veterinarian as soon as possible to start treating her eye. Do NOT give any pain medications that are intended for humans to Princess, as these can be fatally toxic to dogs. I hope this is helpful - best of luck with Princess!

It sounds like your pet Daisy has a very common situation here which is a chemical burn or scratch on her cornea (surface of her eye). This is common after being groomed because shampoo or condition can get on the eye and isn't washed off properly or promptly. Poor girl. I would recommend taking her to your local vet as soon as you can to get her eye examined, tested and treated. Hi there. You could certainly go ahead and rinse Rocket's eye with some plain saline eye wash now, if you have some - it won't hurt anything, and might help if there are still any traces of the Lysol present. The biggest concern with getting Lysol in the eye would be irritation or ulceration of the cornea (the clear surface of the eye), which is usually quite painful. If he's squinting in the affected eye, or if the eye appears red or is having any drainage, then I would recommend taking him to an emergency vet today to have it checked. If the eye looks normal, then it's likely that not enough Lysol came into contact with his eye to cause any problems, and you shouldn't need to worry.

I am so very sorry to hear about the fire and the loss of your pets. In terms of her eyes, without knowing the actual diagnosis of what is going on with them we cannot really make a recommendation. I would recommend having her vet examine the eyes if they have not already. Some damage unfortunately is permanent, but without knowing the issue we cannot say. There is not likely to be an over the counter product that is going to make a change though, so the vet visit is truly your best option.
