My female dog has a small bleeding nipple-like bump, no pain.

Hi, sometimes dogs can get blood blisters usually on their underside. If it's not bothering her, leave it alone. Iy may go away on its own or stay there. If you think she's bothered by it, she should see a vet about getting it removed. But it doesn't mean anything bad is going on. Good luck, I hope this helps!

That area could be a ruptured abscess, a ruptured cyst or the previous home of a worm larvae. You can continue treating it like you are. Make sure Eleven wears and elizabethan collar at all times to prevent any licking which could make it worse. I do not see anything immediately concerning on the pictures but it is recommended to get all lumps checked by your vet to rule out sinister causes, especially if there is any change in size, colour or texture. Some changes will occur with puberty and this may be what you can feel

Hello, thank you for your question about Harley. Based on the photo that you’ve attached it appears that small area is a blood blister or forming bruise. If Harley recently had surgery it is possible that she is having a mild reaction to the surgical antiseptic used or that area is where one of the surgical instruments rested. As long as Harley does not super painful around the area I would recommend continuing to monitor the area. If it does not fade or go away in the next few days I would recommend having Harley evaluated by a veterinarian. Hope this helps!

I'm glad to hear that Ivy doesn't seem to be bothered by this lesion, despite how inflamed and irritated it appears. While it's impossible to say definitively what the cause of this lesion is without further diagnostics, I can say that it's possible that this could be an irritated insect bite, or a benign or malignant mass. Given the irregular surface of this lesion, I think a bite/sting is unlikely, but the possibility shouldn't be ignored. Since it's so red and obvious, we have to assume that it popped up pretty quickly since you're just noticing it. As a result, I do think that you should have this checked out by your vet in person in the coming week. After an exam, your vet will likely want to perform a fine needle aspirate, where they'll use a needle to draw out a few cells for microscopic evaluation. That will help them to determine if this is more of an inflammatory/infectious issue rather than a more aggressive lesion. In the meantime, be sure to keep a close eye on Ivy. If she starts to lick this area at all, put an e-collar (cone) on her, as the licking will only cause further irritation. I hope that everything goes well!

He could have a small mass that is growing or an infection under the skin. This time of year, insect bites are common as well. It sounds like Harley has some sort of infection in his skin. Abscesses, infected cysts, reactions to something stuck in his skin (like a thorn) and less likely some sort of tumor are all possible. Clean the area with soap and water and rinse it well. Then plan on making an appointment at the veterinarians office to have it evaluated. Make sure he cannot lick or scratch that area as this will cause further damage. The doctor will likely put him on an antibiotic and send you home with an appointment or special shampoo.
