My 10-year-old Golden Lab's testicles are black. Is this normal?

The picture does not show anything concerning but I would continue to monitor for any sweliing or discomfort which may indicate a painful infection or assymetry which can indicate a tumour. Rapid increase in size can occur with scrotal hernias which although rare are a surgical emergency.

Everything in the picture appears normal. the dark spot appears to be normal pigment in the skin of he scrotum. The skin can get more or less pigmented as they age, so this may be why you are just now noticing this. As long as the dark areas are not raised, crusty, or causing any other problems with the skin, then they are not concerning. Considering he is otherwise normal, I would not be concerned about this. Hi, yes this is a normal skin change for this area. If you feel the skin, it is also thickened, it is absolutely normal and could be due to the testicles lying on the ground/hard surface on repetitive occasions.

Many dogs develop redness in the testicles, it's not always considered to be an issue but it could sometimes be a sign of infection or allergic reaction. you should monitor it for a few days, if the problem does not resolve you should probably get it checked by your vet. having him neutered will also solve the problem.

The sac can be on the black side, it's not uncommon, but if it is very black and does not feel relatively smooth and elastic like the rest of the skin, then there might be a problem that will require you to take him to the vet.

That is likely just a normal aging change. Make sure the testicles appear equal in size, are not painful or unusually hard. It is common for a male dog of 5-6 years to have a scrotum that is a bit "saggy"...,,,I am the surgeon at a spay and neuter clinic and we call them "danglers" as a bit of humor. I don't know what breed your dog is, but the larger breeds (lab, golden, German shepherd, American Bulldogs, etc.) seem to appear this way more commonly than smaller breeds, but it can happen to any breed.

Black scrotum/testicles is not a good sign especially if wounds are present. The black color often means that the skin is dying. I suggest you have Tommy looked at by your vet.
