My pregnant cat only eats boiled chicken. Is it safe during pregnancy?

It is fines as long as she does eat and drink. Sometimes a cat's preference changes, especially when under a hormonal influence such as pregnancy. Feed her a good quality wet food twice daily and from day 40 of pregnancy , feed her canned kitten food as she will need the extra nutrition for the kittens' growth.

It would be ok to eat a small amount of chicken, as long as it is baked and not fried. She also needs to eat cat food because an all chicken diet is not a nutritional balanced diet for a cat. If she won't eat both and is only looking for chicken than you may need to feed only cat food so she will start eating it again. You could try different varieties and see which one she eats best.

At this point in her pregnancy, you should feed her kitten food. If she does turn out to not be pregnant, it will not hurt her to feed the kitten food right now. You will feed her this diet until the kittens are weaned and no longer dependent upon her for milk. The dry cat food is just fine for her. Do not give her anything like milk as this may upset her stomach. You should also talk to your veterinarian about deworming her for parasites. I would recommend a completely balanced cat food. I am not sure how old she is, but some recommended brands are: Royal Canin, Hill's Science, Evo (Innova) or Eukanuba. She should be eating three times a day (kitten food) if she is still a kitten and 2 times a day (adult food) if she is an adult cat. Best of luck with your pet Pearl.

Cats can eat boiled white meat chicken. It should be plain. This is fine to feed for an unspent tummy or as a treat but this not balanced. Cats and kittens need to eat a balanced diet long term. I hope this helps.

Great question! Pregnant cats are definitely hungrier than normal, and you can feed her up to double her normal amount safely. I would try portioning out her food so she gets multiple meals a day, which will hopefully satisfy her hunger. I hope this helps!
