Pregnant cat won't eat cat food. Can she have omelettes? What to do?

Zinnie is pregnant..due in next month.. is it fine if she hves omlette daily. She loves it a lot and dnt eat cat food unless she gets egg omlette.. what else shld we do at home during her pregnancy.

Cats are typically pregnant for 63-65 days, but pregnancy can range from 58-70 days. The pregnancy is divided into trimesters, and a healthy, well-fed queen will experience steady weight gain throughout the pregnancy. This weight gain appears to function as energy storage to support upcoming lactation. Overfeeding can result in obesity at the end of pregnancy, which increases the risk for difficult or prolonged labor and added stress on the kittens. Conversely, underfeeding during pregnancy can result in embryo loss, abnormal fetal development, spontaneous abortion or stillbirth, small litter size, and low birth-weight kittens who fail to thrive. It is important that the queen not lose weight or condition during this time, so monitor her weight and body condition, increasing food as needed.

A highly-digestible, high quality kitten/growth/development formulation is generally recommended during feline pregnancy and all the way through until the kittens are weaned.

At this point in her pregnancy, you should feed her kitten food. If she does turn out to not be pregnant, it will not hurt her to feed the kitten food right now. You will feed her this diet until the kittens are weaned and no longer dependent upon her for milk. The dry cat food is just fine for her. Do not give her anything like milk as this may upset her stomach. You should also talk to your veterinarian about deworming her for parasites. What food should I feed my cat after she has kittens for nutrition?

I would feed her wet/canned kitten food during the last three weeks of pregnancy so she hass enough nutrition for making her babies grow properly. Oncee she has given birth you can keep feeding her the kitten food, so there will be an easy transition when the kittens will start to eat solid food at around 6 weeks. Find homes for them now, but do not give them away before they are 12 weeks old, as they will still need mama to teach them to be good kitties, to hunt, what is safe, what is not, etc. They will also need their siblings to play and play hunt and get coordination.

How to help my pregnant cat who's nauseous, vomiting, and not eating?

Oh my, poor kitty. The vomiting is likely due to very little space in the abdomen and when the kittens move they activate the pressure receptors of the stomach which then thinks it is too full, and then empties itself. You need to feed her good quality kitten food, preferably canned and feed her small amounts over several feeds (I would feed her daily ration split over 4 feeds/day). Once she had the kittens, you can reduce that to three times/day. This should help her gain weight again.

You can see a cat lose its appetite while pregnant, usually around three to four weeks into the pregnancy. It is good that you took Puffy into a vet, however, as it sounds like she was sick if she had a high fever. I am a little concerned that she still is only eating a little, and I would take her back into the vet for a health check to make sure everything is ok. It's very important for her health and the health of her kittens to eat properly, and since she has been sick, follow up visits with the vet should be done. Cats are gourmets....if you feed her boiled chicken and she likes it better than her wet food, then she will shun her wet food and just eat her favourite food. Try offering her tinned kitten food rather than her usual wet food. This would be healthier than chicken only.
