My 4-month-old kitten is vomiting. What home remedies can I try?

I recommend offering him canned kitten food to see if you can get his strength up. You could try deworming him with something for hookworms and roundworms but he could have other worms that that medication will not treat. There are no reliable home remdies for V and D in a kitten except for starving for 24 hours then feeding plain chicken and rice until normal function resolves. If the kitten is continuing to vomit or dehydrated you will need to go to the vet.

This vomiting in both cats could be caused by eating something rotten, GI illness, eating something toxic, or a foreign body. I would take them both in the vet right away. The vet can diagnose what is causing the vomiting, and how best to treat it. Roxy likely needs a shot to stop the vomiting, and IV fluids for hydration.

Normally, it would be recommended that food is withheld then a bland diet is feb, but Sebastian is vomiting after not eating, so this home remedy would be unproductive and vets recommend a visit to the clinic if vomiting occurs in the absence of food when trying the home remedy. I would take him into a vet now, he should have medical attention. Thank toy for submitting your question regarding Dusty. I would contact her veterinarian in the morning to let them know of the vomiting. It is likely due to the deworming medication. It can sometimes cause vomiting as the parasites are being killed. They may send her home with an anti-nausea medication if this is the case. This medication can typically given as an injection by the veterinarian and then tablets to continue at home. I hope this information helps!

Poor kitty! She could have a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps. I recommend withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. I recommend getting your cat seen by your vet or an emergency vet right away. Cats need to eat, if they go more than a few days without eating they can develop serious liver problems which can be fatal. Continuous vomiting for so many hours is very exhausting and dehydrating, so your kitten likely needs some medical intervention to get better. Your vet will do an exam, labwork, possibly x-rays, and based on these results, your vet will have a better idea what is going on and can better advise you about treatment options.
