My 6-week-old kitten only eats raw beef. Is it a complete diet?

Thanks for using petocach! I'm sorry to hear your cat is having issues with food preferences. Unfortunately, he will need to eat kitten food in order to get the nutrients, vitamins and minerals he needs to grow. I would recommend trying a variety of wet kitten foods to see which he may like, and occasionally warming them in the microwave to help it smell more enticing. He should ideally be eating two meals of kitten food a day, which can be supplemented with small amounts of additional protein but kitten food should be the mainstay of his diet. Good luck!

The main source of nutrition for your kittens should be kitten food, but a small amount of beef is unlikely to cause any harm. If you note any vomiting or diarrhea after offering beef then I wouldn't offer any in the future. Cute kittens! Good luck with them!

Kitten food is actually more nutritious than KMR - KMR is really for those tiny kittens who are so little they're not yet ready to try solids on their own. So, if your kitten is willing to eat canned kitten food well, I would work on weaning her off the KMR. However, if she's refusing to eat anything for more than 1 meal in a row, then I would take her right in to your vet. Little kittens like Baby can get dehydrated and sick very quickly, so prompt medical care is important if she's not feeling well. Hope this helps!

Feeding meat by itself lacks a large amount of essential vitamins, minerals, and balance of nutrients that cats need (especially kittens) and require every day. I would stick to the cat food formulations instead and a tiny bit of meat can be given as a treat every so often.

Unfortunately I can't recommend feeding a diet such as you are suggesting. Kittens need minerals (among other things) for proper growth, especially calcium and phosphorus, and they need to receive them at a specific ratio. Commercial diets specifically prepared for growing cats are formulated properly, and I would urge you to feed one of these. Royal Canin is available in India, and they have an excellent diet for kittens. You can certainly continue feeding a bit of chicken (preferably white meat/no bones) along with the commercial diet, but limit the amount you feed to only a tablespoon or so.

Yes, cooked chicken is fine but Bella needs to be eating a commercial cat food. Cats have specific nutritional needs and a homemade diet is always LACKING in proper nutrition. I recommend to feed Bella Royal Canin Kitten food or Purina ProPlan Kitten food. These are balanced diets that contains all the amino acids, vitamins, minerals, fat, fiber and DHA that she needs to develop normally. I hope this helps.

Purina, Science Diet & Royal Canin are the better companies. Make sure that Meena has been & continues to be dewormed on a regular schedule, & make sure she receives the proper vaccinations at the proper points in her life. She does not need anything fancy or special, nor to you want to supplement her food with any additional vitamins or additives, unless your veterinarian recommends something. Do this & Meena will grow sleek & strong. Take care.
