Can I feed my 4-month-old kitten meat in addition to her regular food?

Thanks for using petocach! I'm sorry to hear your cat is having issues with food preferences. Unfortunately, he will need to eat kitten food in order to get the nutrients, vitamins and minerals he needs to grow. I would recommend trying a variety of wet kitten foods to see which he may like, and occasionally warming them in the microwave to help it smell more enticing. He should ideally be eating two meals of kitten food a day, which can be supplemented with small amounts of additional protein but kitten food should be the mainstay of his diet. Good luck!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Raw beef is missing other key vitamins and minerals that kittens need to develop so I do not recommend feeding that alone. I would try canned kitten food and put it on a plate so she can stand in it and eat it. If she goes 24 hours without eating, I would take her to a vet to make sure there are no physical problems causing her not to eat a balanced diet. Good luck and kisses to Reena!

Fish and meat are equivalent. They both provides necessary sources of protein. However I feel that fish is better because it provides a source of omega 3 fattt acids which is great for skin and bladder health.

The main source of nutrition for your kittens should be kitten food, but a small amount of beef is unlikely to cause any harm. If you note any vomiting or diarrhea after offering beef then I wouldn't offer any in the future. Cute kittens! Good luck with them!

It is completely fine to feed you cat only dry food if that is all she likes. If you want to give her canned food as an occasional treat any brand should be fine. Cats can eat boiled white meat chicken. It should be plain. This is fine to feed for an unspent tummy or as a treat but this not balanced. Cats and kittens need to eat a balanced diet long term. I hope this helps.

Hi there. I would recommend feeding her a high quality kitten food until she is 9 months old. You can feed her canned food and dry food. There are several great brands of kitten food available, I like Royal Canin kitten food, Natural Balance and Wellness. I hope that helps.
