Why does my 4-month-old kitten's eye twitch or wink? Is it normal?

Cats often squint their eyes, especially if they are getting sleepy and about to nap. Now if you notice any redness of the white part of her eye, eye discharge (usually yellow green) or puffiness of her eyes, then I would get concerned about conjunctivitis and then eye drops would have to be prescribed by your vet. Cats can have the morning sleep in their eyes just like us. If the squinting is not persistent throughout the day, it should be fine. If it occurs throughout the day, then she should get checked out by the vet.

IT could be that Honey is having a normal reflex in that eye. Sometimes when people are sitting they can have small muscle twitches too. Also sometimes Honey might be using her whiskers to sense what is going on around her before she falls a sleep. I really would not be concerned about this behavior as long as she is eating and drinking normally. I hope that helps

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. If he is blinking this eye excessively also, then I would recommend taking him to your vet to have the eye examined. It is very likely he has an eye infection and in need of antibiotic eye ointment to help clear things up. Eye infections are common in cats and can be caused by a mild scratch or ulcer on the eye. They can also be caused by mild viral infections (i.e. Herpesvirus, Calicivirus). I hope your furry friends eye issue resolves soon! Best wishes and take care.

As long as the eye looks normal and does not tear or have a discharge then I'm not overly concerned about it. Next time you go to your veterinarian with Toby have them check his eye. He could have some eyelash hairs that irritate the eye so he keeps it closed, or there may be another problem that they can see when they do the exam. If he's squinting and seems painful or the eye is red with a discharge then I would take Toby in right away to get it checked. This can be a sign of sickness or an infection in cats. however, since he is normal in the day,he may be tired at night and the eyelid comes out. If there is no squinting or ocular discharge, and no sneezing, then i would not worry at this point. Monitor his activity level and eating habits and if any changes are noted, then i would get him checked
