Why does my cat's right eye twitch when she's tired or about to sleep?

Gentle twitches can occur during relaxation or even during sleep. As long as Mila is otherwise eating, drinking, and acting normally, there is likely no reason for concern. If anything changes with Mila's overall behavior or energy level, it is worth taking a trip to the vet. I hope that all goes well!

This is common in cats. They often will squint one eye. As long as she downstairs have any discharge (yellow or green), swelling or continued excessive blinking (blepharospams) then she is likely displaying normal cat behavior. Cats often squint their eyes, especially if they are getting sleepy and about to nap. Now if you notice any redness of the white part of her eye, eye discharge (usually yellow green) or puffiness of her eyes, then I would get concerned about conjunctivitis and then eye drops would have to be prescribed by your vet. I wouldn't describe baby kittens as twitching. They may be a little jerky as they are learning to walk or practicing other fine motor skills. Maybe try reposting with what exact behavior you are seeing. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I wouldn't worry overly about the twitching when they are asleep as many animals make active movements when dreaming. Your cat is likely simply twitching its skin because it is excited. As long as it is healthy and not showing discomfort when toileting I wouldn't worry about it. If it is really concerning you I would go to the vet for peace of mind.

A little bit of twitching is normal. Hyperesthesia is a pathological exaggerated response to normal stimulation. If you feel Pancetta's behavior is normal, then I would not be concerned about occasional twitching.

This is called nystagmus. Some Asian breeds of cats have a congenital nystagmus, which is not concerning. They can still see very well and act and feel normal and healthy. However, nystagmus can also be a sign of a brain lesion. Should your kitty act funny, or not feel good, have problems walking, eating, drinking or appear ill, take her to your vet for an exam and mention the nystagmus. But if she acts normal, then there is likely no problem.
