Can my kitten take Clavamox oral and Clindamycin injections together?

There should be no problems giving them concurrently as long as they were prescribed by your veterinarian. If anything, together they may cause some loose stool. Try stimulating her with a warm, wet washcloth. Gently circle her back end until she defecates. Do this after each feeding. She should be getting KMR and you can start her on a gruel made of KMR and canned kitten food. Consider a probiotic such as Bene-Bac or ProViable to promote a healthy gut. If she doesn't improve in the next 12-24 hours have her rechecked by your veterinarian.

Clavamox, like most antibiotics, can cause upset stomach, nausea and vomiting when given on am empty stomach. The nausea and vomiting may be decreased if you give it with food. Some pets will do just fine taking antibiotics on an empty stomach.

I'm not sure exactly what is going on with your kitten, but Clavamox is given to treat many different types of bacterial infections, such as ones of the urinary tract. If your kitten is really dehydrated, bacteria can build up due to him not passing urine, leading to an infection. That may be why your vet prescribed the Clavamox.

I personally would use clavamox long term if it’s effective. Yes, there are less side effects. Then you can keep the clindamycin to use at some point in the future, if needed. I believe it is a safe antibiotic and does a good job for animals with urinary tract infections. I would continue the clavamox as prescribed by your Vet. Ideally I would have Mittems checked out by your vet and have a stool sample checked for parasites. If he has roundworms it's also possible he has other parasites or coccidia as they are very common in kittens. An over the counter dewormer such as pyrantel or fenbendazole should be safe to give with Clavamox though.

This is not the antibiotic of choice for URI in cats, the most suitable antibiotics for this condition at this are are Zhitromax and Veraflox. doxycycline should never be given to a kitten this young and clavamox is usually much less effective for URI in cats.
