Cat has pus, fungal infection, ringworm after vet shots. What to do?

This looks like quite a nasty skin infection likely caused by a fungus or bacteria. I would return to your vet and asked for it to be tested to find out exactly what it is. If it is fungus it can require extensive treatment.

Oral systemic medication only (intrafungol) for ringworm must be given instead of lime dip and sprays. I would not give anything else a part from the oral medication, as the signs (dry hair sores) on legs seem to be due to an allergic reaction to one or to a combination of different products you are giving. I would then repeat repeat the culture again and if negative I would stop intrafungol as well. Please send us picture of the sores to have more specific advices. Hi and thank you for using PetCoach. If the fungal infection is ringworm, it can take weeks to months to fully resolve. Many times treating the environment as well as the cat is needed. Keep Mia indoors may make it easier to contain the infection and prevent reinfection. The vet can look at hairs under the microscope or try to culture the fungus from Mia to assess if she still has it. I'm very concerned about her secreting a white liquid, and I'm worried it's not coming from her bottom but rather her vulva. I see she is not spayed, and she could have a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that causes a white discharge, loss of appetite, and severe lethargy. A pyometra is fatal without treatment, so I think the best thing to do is take her into a vet immediately. If she does have a pyometra, spaying her is part of the recommended treatment. It looks like this may not be a simple infection. You should talk to your vet about a possible immune-mediated disease or a biopsy for a resistant infection or fungal infection. The vet may need to check his blood work and test for FIV/FeLV to see if there are any abnormalities which could affect healing.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do from home, especially if medications aren't helping. I would seek out another exam in person and have the vet take a scraping of the fungal site to send to a lab for testing. This can help determine what exactly it is and the best medication to put on it to help. Medicated shampoos and oral medications can also be helpful and may need a few courses to fully resolve the issue. I would definitely keep the affected area cleaned and trimmed/clipped so you can monitor spread and more easily get medications on the affected area. Since that spot in the photo also looks like it may be infected with bacteria (abscessed) in addition, oral antibiotics from your vet is probably another good idea. Until you can get to the vet (which I recommend doing ASAP), keeping the area clean and dry, and keeping Zuzu from scratching at or rubbing it with an Elizabethan (cone) collar (if it doesn't rub on the spot) is best. Since fungal infections can be spread to other pets and people, washing hands, bedding, clothing, etc is also a good idea to reduce spread.

These are skin infections that you are describing. For a cat to get these regularly indicates that his immune system is not working properly. For this to be happening all of his life, I would be most suspicious of an FIV or FeLV infection. Either way, I recommend you schedule a consult with a veterinarian. They would be able to better evaluate Parker's lesions and help narrow down the cause of this.
