Why is my cat lethargic with white discharge after ringworm treatment?

This discharge could be coming primarily from the mouth or any of the associated anatomic structures and it is not possible to know exactly without an examination. This could certainly be due to an infection for example. It does appear that she is uncomfortable. How this is managed really depends on what actually is going on. For that reason, I highly recommend that you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to diagnose this and proceed with therapy accordingly. Cats don't normally have discharge even when they are in heat. I would be concerned about a condition called pyometra. This is a major infection in the uterus and requires a spay procedure to remove the infected uterus. I would recommend taking her back to the vet for evaluation. It may be necessary to do blood work and abdominal x-rays to diagnose if she has a pyometra. That may be the source of the unknown infection for which she was recently treated.

I am sorry to hear this! Yes, it could be pyometra. This can be life threatening so I highly recommend that you take Tingu to the vet immediately! The fact that she is not eating suggests that she is not feeling well and even if not pyometra, they can get her back on track ASAP! I hope she feels better soon!

Please, take Tonks back to your vet to examine skin scrapes under the microscope and possibly to change treatment she is currently receiving.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Tifa! Thanks for the pictures! The spaghetti noodle things in the vomit are adult round worms, which are an intestinal parasite. Since Tifa is lethargic, not eating and profusely vomiting I would recommend taking her in to the Vet. Hopefully with some supportive care and deworming medications we can get her back to normal. I have, in rare cases, seen intestinal parasites cause an intestinal obstruction. I hope this helps and I wish Tifa a speedy recovery!

If Sweety didn't eat for several days or isn't eating normally she will pass less stool which doesn't necessarily mean she is constipated. If Sweety is not spayed then I would be very concerned that she has a uterine infection (pyometra) which requires immediate Veterinary care and surgery to remove the infected uterus. This is a life threatening condition. Other possibilities is a urinary tract infection which also require a Vet exam and analysis of her urine and antibiotics. I recommend that Sweety sees a Vet today. I hope this helps and I wish Sweety a speedy recovery!

Yes, I would be very concerned about Ziggy. The discharge from her vulva looks white, and I'm afraid she could have a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. In this case, I feel she needs to see a vet immediately. If she does have a pyometra, spaying her is part of the recommended treatment. Please bring her into a vet now. Best of luck.
