Cat got pumpkin pie on tail. Can she get sick from licking nutmeg?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 years and 5 months old | 7 lbs

My cat got her tail in my whipcream that was on my pumpkin pie. And it had pieces of pumpkin in it. If i wiped her tail down a few times with a wet cloth, and wiped away the Whip cream before she groomed her tail herself can she still get sick as if she were eattin the pie? **concerned cause the pie had pumpkin pie spieces in it such as nutmeg and all that**

Cats can get their tails into anything, can't they?! If you wiped her down and removed all the whipped cream and pieces of pumpkin, she won't get sick at all. There would be nothing on her tail for her to ingest causing her to get sick. It would also take a sufficient quantity of nutmeg to make her sick, and there wouldn't be enough of it in a few pieces of pumpkin to cause that to happen. She should be fine :-)
