My cat got Nature's Miracle on his tail, will the smell make him sick?

If the solution you used was a dish soap (such as Dawn here in the US), she should be fine until you can get to her again. It may cause mild GI upset if she grooms it or mild skin irritation. If you notice redness, sores, or hives, then she may need to be seen by a veterinarian. Good luck!

If you do notice the smell lingering, it's fine to bathe Jasper again, but I would wait at least 24 hours before the next bath so you don't dry out his skin. This shouldn't damage his coat, it's more of a concern if you are bathing him all the time. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! To be safe, bathe Sabbath in case bleach got on his fur. Since cats groom themselves we wouldn't want him to get bleach in his mouth. If he'll let you, try to rinse his mouth, but don't do it if he tries to bite. My hope is that he didn't lick any and none spilled on him. If he starts drooling, not eating or breathing fast take him to the Vet. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Boo. If he will tolerate it, you can try bathing him with Dawn dish soap. It is usually very effective at stripping the hair. Then you could shave any remaining areas. I hope this information helps!

Hello, and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Ouch, poor Oscar! The most important thing is to keep that area clean. Use warm soapy water (Dawn dish soap works well) with a clean towel and gently wash to keep it clean of discharge, dirt, and crusting. Don’t use harsher products such as alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, as they will be painful and can damage tissue in the wound. You’re right, that’s not a very easy area to wrap so I recommend leaving it open. You can dab a little neosporin on it as a barrier. However, I’ll warn you that bite wounds have a tendency to get infected, even if you’re doing everything right with wound care. Cat bites in particular are prone to infection. So, monitor it closely and if it’s becoming more red, swollen, painful, and has more discharge, that would indicate it’s likely infected and Oscar would need to see a vet and get antibiotics.
