No, human collagen will not be helpful and other supplements like that will not likely help. The anti-inflammatories you got from the vet will work the best. If she does not seem to be responding to the medication then talk to your vet about it. They can maybe adjust the dose or use a different medication or a combination of two or three different medications.

Hi there! I’m not familiar with this brand, but those are good ingredients! You could definitely start your other cat on it, as long as your regular vet has no concerns based on your cat’s health history. As long as he’s on a high quality food, it may not be necessary until you start seeing the early signs of arthritis or other joint troubles.

I do not see anything in those ingredients that would cause a problem in cats. The upper ingredients are mostly water soluble vitamins which would not cause any problem in a cat for the most part. (Very high levels of vitamin C can cause diarrhea, but that is not a high enough dose in 1 capsule.) The lower ingredients are 2 glandular supplements and licorice (which is not toxic to cats and is actually used in Chinese herbal formulas for cats). First of all, it does interact (and decrease the effectiveness of) certain antibiotics so if she is an antibiotic, the answer is probably no. Second, there are reports of kidney damage from the use of colloidal silver in people. As cats are more at risk for kidney disease anyways, I am always a little hesitant about it. Last, long term consistent use can be associated with metal toxicity (rare). All that being said, a conservative dose from a knowledgeable holistic vet for a short time is likely safe. While I don't have concerns about those specific ingredients, supplementing folate is not typically necessary for an adult cat. Low folate is a sign that the bacterial flora in the intestinal tract is out of balance, often because of a disease like inflammatory bowel disease and the test is often run to look for this problem. Treatment usually focuses on treating the underlying disease which will correct the folate. I would recommend talking to your veterinarian before choosing to supplement orally.

However if your pets are sick I recommend contacting your veterinarian prior to starting any supplement. You should also mention any supplements your pet is taking with your veterinarian prior to giving any prescription medication as there could be some interaction.
