Can I give my senior cat CBD oil after a Depo Medrol shot for cancer?

When using CBD oil products, there is not much research out there that backs any claims at the moment. What we currently have on the market is so variable in strength and the claims are so vast on what it treats. With any CBD oil product, I always caution owners to use them at their own risk. These could have unwanted side effects. I would only use straight CBD oil and not products that contain THC as THC can be toxic to animals. I would speak with the oncologist first and discuss treatment options and ask about CBD products then. I hope this helps!

I'm so sorry Tough Tony has aggressive cancer! I certainly understand why you would not want to pursue chemotherapy based on the side effects. I found on this website (https://cbdoilreview.org/cbd-cannabidiol/cbd-p-450-enzyme/) a list of things that interact with CBD oil, but can't find any of the ingredients of Life Gold on it. The list is not extensive, but from what I can find, it appears to be safe to use them together. Keep in mind, there could be side effects from both medications, and it's always recommended to consult a veterinarian before using CBD oil to determine a treatment plan. As of yet, we have very little research on CBD oil in veterinary patients, so we cannot make any recommendations one way or the other about this product - we do not know what an appropriate dose might be, and if there are any potential health concerns or drug interactions in cats. In addition, because it's a schedule 1 drug, it's illegal for us to prescribe or recommend.

I would follow the recommendations that your vet gave you for the buprenorphine. Overdosage can cause worsening of the disoriented feeling, including extreme lethargy and inability to move. There have not been any published studies on the use of CBD in pets, yet. Anecdotally, some owners that have used it have felt that it helps with pain. There are no safe dosages known, though, so at this time I cannot safely recommend its use. If you feel like Cucho is still in a lot of pain, then I recommend he be seen by an emergency vet. Based on records you might have and the medications that were prescribed, the vet can prescribe additional pain medications to help with his comfort.

Hi there! As long as the CBD oil is labeled for use in cats, I have often used it in both cats and dogs as adjunctive therapy for different ailments. I haven't had any problems prescribing different antibiotics at the same time as the CBD oil. Keep in mind, it may or may not help the seizures, but it definitely can't hurt (as long as it's labeled for use in cats to avoid toxic reactions of any kind). I hope you find this answer helpful! Hello. You do not have anything to worry about after giving Gizmo 3 drops. This is a very small amount. But I would not give him anymore since we also do not know truly how cats respond to CBD oil. For anxiety, I would first invest in a couple of Feliway room diffusers that emit a compound called a pheromone. This has shown to calm kitties & help them adjust to new situations. Is there a reason you want to stop the prednisone? I would recommend not stopping it and if you feel it is better to stop the prednisone then I would recommend weaning off of the prednisone.
