My cat has lymphoma. Is CBD oil safe? Should it contain THC?

I'm so sorry Tough Tony has aggressive cancer! I certainly understand why you would not want to pursue chemotherapy based on the side effects. I found on this website (https://cbdoilreview.org/cbd-cannabidiol/cbd-p-450-enzyme/) a list of things that interact with CBD oil, but can't find any of the ingredients of Life Gold on it. The list is not extensive, but from what I can find, it appears to be safe to use them together. Keep in mind, there could be side effects from both medications, and it's always recommended to consult a veterinarian before using CBD oil to determine a treatment plan. As of yet, we have very little research on CBD oil in veterinary patients, so we cannot make any recommendations one way or the other about this product - we do not know what an appropriate dose might be, and if there are any potential health concerns or drug interactions in cats. We just don’t have much data on CBD oil and safety in pets right now. All I can say is use it cautiously if you desire and choose a product marketed for pets. If you see any abnormal symptoms at all take Cafe to the vet for evaluation. I would also discuss her old dog issues with the vet to make sure she is on any necessary medications or supplements.

There is very limited research on CBD oil concerning pets so far and therefore I would be reluctant to use it on my pets. I suggest waiting until there is more research and proof of beneficial effects as well as research on long-term effects.

Hi there! As long as the CBD oil is labeled for use in cats, I have often used it in both cats and dogs as adjunctive therapy for different ailments. I haven't had any problems prescribing different antibiotics at the same time as the CBD oil. Keep in mind, it may or may not help the seizures, but it definitely can't hurt (as long as it's labeled for use in cats to avoid toxic reactions of any kind). I hope you find this answer helpful! The research isn't really clear at this point as to whether or not cannabidiol oils are helpful as a treatment or palliative care option for cancer. Cannabidiol oils have been shown in some studies to slow tumor growth and prevent metastasis, and it seems they are generally safe, but again there is not much research at this point. To my knowledge there is no published dose for rats, although much of the research occurs in rats due to their status as a lab animal. Some veterinarians recommend a dose of 0.1-0.5 mg/kg of CBD oil twice daily for dogs, and with many medications rats would be dosed similar to dogs. I found several research articles where rats were given 10 mg/kg of CBD oil, although the rats were not evaluated for side effects and it's possible that this dose caused problems not mentioned in the studies.
