My cat has cancer. Can I use CBD oil and Life Gold together safely?

When using CBD oil products, there is not much research out there that backs any claims at the moment. What we currently have on the market is so variable in strength and the claims are so vast on what it treats. With any CBD oil product, I always caution owners to use them at their own risk. These could have unwanted side effects. I would only use straight CBD oil and not products that contain THC as THC can be toxic to animals. I would speak with the oncologist first and discuss treatment options and ask about CBD products then. I hope this helps!

It is difficult to say. There are no scientific studies that have been conducted to say that these supplements help or that they are "good". That being said, they likely won't hurt anything and they have good anecdotal reviews online. It is completely up to you if you want to try them. Unfortunately herb mixtures will not kill Greg's cancer, and you have to be very careful with some of these "natural" remedies as they may contain ingredients that are toxic to cats. If your family is against chemo, you can do hospice care if he does not have a good prognosis without chemo. That involves keeping him as comfortable as possible, pain medications prescribed by the vet as needed. You can discuss with his vet if that's an option. Best of luck.

Hi there! As long as the CBD oil is labeled for use in cats, I have often used it in both cats and dogs as adjunctive therapy for different ailments. I haven't had any problems prescribing different antibiotics at the same time as the CBD oil. Keep in mind, it may or may not help the seizures, but it definitely can't hurt (as long as it's labeled for use in cats to avoid toxic reactions of any kind). I hope you find this answer helpful! As of yet, we have very little research on CBD oil in veterinary patients, so we cannot make any recommendations one way or the other about this product - we do not know what an appropriate dose might be, and if there are any potential health concerns or drug interactions in cats. In addition, because it's a schedule 1 drug, it's illegal for us to prescribe or recommend.

Tony is such a handsome boy! I'm so sorry he has cancer though, that is very tough for you. I can understand not wanting to put him through surgery and chemo; while it will give him a little extra time, it won't cure the cancer and the end result is the same. It's fine not to do that, and if you really don't want to take that treatment path, I recommend making the most of the time you have left with him. Spoil him rotten, give him foods he loves (but make sure they aren't ones that are toxic!), go for walks and car rides, and have him enjoy every bit of life he has left. Continue to monitor his quailty of life, and make a list of five things he loves to do. When he no longer is doing at least two of them, then his quality of life has declined to a point where euthansia should be considered. Keep in contact with your vet about how he's doing to you can evaluate his quality of life objectively and make the best decision possible for him.
