Bravecto on cat's head: watery eyes, fast breathing. Is it a reaction?

There are possible reactions associated with any medication or preventative product given to an animal though this would be an unusual reaction to a topical flea preventative like Bravecto. If the skin around at the site it was administered looks normal (not irritated or inflamed) and she is otherwise doing well, I would continue to watch her for now and have her evaluated by your veterinarian tomorrow if no improvement. If she appears to be too different to what she normally is, have her evaluated tonight to ensure she is not having an unusual reaction to the Bravecto. I think she is likely reacting to the application of the product because she can feel something in her skin that she is not used to rather than having a complication. It's unlikely to be an allergic reaction but chewable bravecto is for DOGS only, for cats bravecto is in spot on form, if your vet prescribed the tablet i do not know what could be the side effects, you should talk to the vet that prescribed it.

Hello. First, no product for fleas is 100% effective. Bravecto is one of my favorites, but we must accept that there will be some breakthrough occasionally. Also, a flea does need to feed in order to die, so it is no wonder that you saw blood in the flea. Nothing we have in the fight against fleas prevents them from jumping on a pet. From there, either they die after feeding, or in the case of something like Frontline, the flea dies when coming in contact with the coat. But a flea can still bite as it is dying. So I think this is a random flea, especially since you are not routinely finding fleas on your pets. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

The medication works by being absorbed in the skin, so it will not be very effective if it's only on the fur. However, it's possible that enough got on the skin to be effective. I recommend just leaving it for now and only giving another treatment if it is not effective at keeping fleas and ticks off of Tikvichko for 12 weeks. If you have to give another treatment within the 12 weeks, then I recommend using a different product such as Frontline to avoid a possible overdose of the Bravector (fluralaner). Your vet can help you with a good choice of a different product if needed. I hope that helps and all is well with Tikvichko.

Thanks for visiting Petcoach! Since mites are not visible without the use of a microscope, I am going to assume you are seeing ticks on Tikvichko. Ticks can be prevented with only 1 preventative that I am aware of on he market right now, and hat product is called Bravecto for cats. Here is a website link with more information. https://us.bravecto.com/for-cats.aspx But to rid the ticks that are on him currently, and also to treat for his other conditions (likely an upper respiratory infection and possible tick borne disease) I highly recommend taking him in to your vet for a proper exam and possible tests to make sure he didn’t get some infection from the ticks. I think tablets work better than topical and seem to have less reactions in my experience. Topciald can be irritating and burn the area where applied which can cause over stimulation such as you described With tablets, the most common side effect is vomiting and is minimal with that medication. I would recommend trying that instead
