Is Bravecto effective if applied to cat's fur instead of skin?

If you wash it off, then the product will not work on Van. It should have been applied to the back of his head to keep him getting at it, but you can put an Ecollar on him to prevent him from reaching the spot where it was applied. You can make one at home, and I will put a link below on how to do this. Once the product is dried, usually in 24-48 hours, you can remove his Ecollar. It's fine to go ahead and start the bravecto. I would also recommend being aware that it's possible fleas are in the environment (outside or in your house) and treatment may be required there to clear up the issue. And make sure you're treating all the animals in the house, not just the ones you see fleas on. Good luck with this frustrating issue!!

Congratulations on your new kitten! The itching is not likely related to the worms and your veterinarian was right to treat for fleas just in case. Generally you will notice a decrease in the itching IF it is related to fleas within 2 weeks. If they are still itching beyond that, it’s may not be fleas. I suspect the Bravecto will be effective. Next time you apply it, try to put it just behind the ears on the back of the skull so that they cannot lick it. Ingesting the product can cause an upset stomach. Hello. First, no product for fleas is 100% effective. Bravecto is one of my favorites, but we must accept that there will be some breakthrough occasionally. Also, a flea does need to feed in order to die, so it is no wonder that you saw blood in the flea. Nothing we have in the fight against fleas prevents them from jumping on a pet. From there, either they die after feeding, or in the case of something like Frontline, the flea dies when coming in contact with the coat. But a flea can still bite as it is dying. I recommend you consider using a product called Capstar which is to kill a lot of fleas at once to complement a flea preventative product like Advantage. You can go ahead and give another dose of Advantage now as well. I would not give up on Advantage just yet. Continue to use it for now as this flea may be was a one time occurrence and the Advantage was still being effective. Another option is switching to Bravecto now though again Advantage may still be effective so it may be best to exhaust its use. Good luck and have a great day!

Bravecto last for three months, but I prefer using a monthly topical treatment personally. That's because it can be reapplied after two weeks at the earliest if needed, while you would need to wait longer to give your pet Bravecto again.

It is a very good medication for killing fleas and ticks. If you live in an area with a very high tick burden, you may need a second medication to repel ticks before they can bite. A product like Vectra 3D or Seresto collar.
