My cat ate a CoQ10 supplement. Will she be okay or is it harmful?

I do not see anything in those ingredients that would cause a problem in cats. The upper ingredients are mostly water soluble vitamins which would not cause any problem in a cat for the most part. (Very high levels of vitamin C can cause diarrhea, but that is not a high enough dose in 1 capsule.) The lower ingredients are 2 glandular supplements and licorice (which is not toxic to cats and is actually used in Chinese herbal formulas for cats). Hello. Neither one of these medications is toxic to cats in a one time dose. If Louis vomits at some point, it should be a one-time occurrence, but the omeprazole works as a stomach protectant in cats, just like in people, so he will be just fine. Simba may develop some stomach upset (vomiting and/or diarrhea). You may be able to manage it at home with a short fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite, persistent vomiting or diarrhea and abdominal pain. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian.

The dose of D3 ingested, 0.0125mg, will likely not pose a risk of serious toxicity. The dose of calcium is within published therapeutic ranges and should not cause a toxicity either. You can monitor for lethargy, increased thirst or urination and GI upset at home. Symptoms typically occur between 12 and 36 hours after ingestion. See your veterinarian if necessary.

With any new treat watch for upset stomach signs: vomit and diarrhea. Extra taurine is not harmful, she will just urinate out the excess. Have a great day!
