My 4 year old mare miscarried her foal at 5 months along. We didn't see it happen but hours later the sac was still hanging out of the mare. The next day the sac was not visible but the horse was lethargic and what looked like puss was coming out. Same condition 2 days later. The horse is eating and drinking fine just seems less energetic. I'm wondering if these symptoms are normal when a horse miscarries or if she is experiencing an infection because not everything came out? Thank you so much!!
