its a little hard to know the answer to your question because I don't know the concentration of the cisapride. This medication is compounded, so the concentration (the milligrams(mg) of drug in a cc ) can vary. The typical recommended dose for cisapride in rabbits is 0.5mg/kg every 6-12 hours. If your bunny weights 2.5 pounds, that is just over 1kg, so a recommended dose would be about 0.5mg. As long as you don't exceed 2mg in a 24 hour period, I don't think you need to worry. Eimeria is a species of coccidia. You will need to use a coccidiostatic medication to get rid of these. The ones that come to mind that you can obtain over the counter include amprolium, corid, and albon. I am not able to provide you with dosage on here, but you should be able to locate this information within a veterinary formulary or through a vet with which you already have an established relationship.

I wouldn't want to contradict your veterinarian, because that only leads to confusion. I can only say to use caution when giving any medications together. Dufalac (Duphalac) will help with constipation. Perinorm increases gastric motility. Giving these two together may cause diarrhea in Hunny which could lead to rapid dehydration. Colicaid is for gas in the stomach and Digene is an antacid. These two can likely be used together. My recommendation would be to find one veterinarian with experience treating rabbits and stick with him or her. In the meantime, choose one of the two and discuss ALL the medications and doses that Hunny is on to come up with a safe treatment plan to ensure the best possible outcome.

Hello, I assume you mean Enroxil ( enrofloxacin ). The usual dose for rabbits is 11 mg every 12 hours, or 22.7 mg every 24 hours for a 5-pound rabbit. It looks as though this product is 2% w/v, which translates to 20mg moxidectin per ml. Based on that information, Moyel would receive 0.029ml according to your vet's directions. The Quest gel is labeled for exclusive use in horses and clearly states that it should not be used in other species. As a result, I would inquire further with your vet as to their planned course of treatment. Even if they feel comfortable prescribing this medication in an off-label fashion (which is commonly done!), the volume of medication appropriate for Moyel is so minuscule that it's next to impossible to achieve accurate dosing. I would instead ask if they have recommendations for topical treatments of moxidectin or selamectin if they're more comfortable using those medications rather than injectable ivermectin. She should have no more than 1/4 cup of fresh rabbit pellets, & a body size pile of timothy hay. Tomorrow, take a sample of her stool for analysis to your vet. They will see if she has any intestinal parasites including coccidia. Based on this, your vet may recommend putting her on a diet of Critical care to increase fiber, or if she needs antibiotics. Hi, with gut stasis we prefer to give Intravenous fluids in forms of boluses or by continuous infusion, even when they are taking the critical care formula by mouth. However, your vet has probably considered risks and benefits of having Nemo at the hospital and decided it was better for him to have treatment at home. As you can imagine, it can be stressful to be in an environment with other pets, especially if the hospital does not have an exotic ward. I also prefer to give their first medications intravenously as I find they are more effective. See how Nemo gets on today, if he starts eating on his own a bit and passing any droppings, if he doesn’t I would have him rechecked. Depending on his weight, Nemo could have a couple more meals of recovery per day, perhaps you could do 10mls every 4 hours. We prefer to give smaller amounts more frequently, as we find it more effective in promoting gut motility. Hope this helps !
