No, Tylosin is definitely not the antibiotic for this condition, in fact it should not be used at all in rabbit and can cause a rabbit fatal diarrhea. the antibiotic your rabbit needs for this condition is Baytril (enrofloxacin) 10mg/kg twice a day for 3-6 weeks.

The only real way to know if the temperature has gone down is to take it rectally. You can't really tell just by feeling their body. The enrofloxacin is a great antibiotic and yes, it will reduce body temperature.

It is safe for your rabbit, QUINOLONES is the antibiotic family and Baytril is a part of this family, the only thing you have to make sure of is that the previous concentration you had was the same (5%), if it is not the same you will need to adjust the dosage. Baytril usually comes in 10% or 2.5% solutions, i don't think that they have a 5% solution (except the injectable form). this means you will need to either double the dose (if you used 10% previously) or divide the original dose by 2 (if you used the 2.5 %).

If your bunny has nasal discharge and sounds congested, he may have an upper respiratory infection that may improve with an antibiotic that is safe for rabbits such as baytril. If there is no nasal discharge/congestion, he may have an environmental allergy, possibly to the bedding/hay in his cage.
