My leopard gecko has a new shiny bump on its nose. Should I see a vet?

For the spot on the nose - you can try soaking, and also use a wet q-tip and gently roll it over the spot to encourage the shed to come off. If it comes off, evaluate the skin underneath closely for any abnormalities. The spot on the back is concerning, as it doesn’t look raised like a shed. You can monitor the area for changes, or you can take her to a veterinarian to take a closer look. Keep an eye on it. It may be "normal" for your gecko or it could be localized trauma or infection. If it gets bigger or affects his eating, then have him examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles.

Your gecko may have a small abscess that has formed because of a wound/injury. If you are unable to take her to the vet just keep an eye on it for now. The area in question may be local irritation or infection. Monitor it for resolution or spread. It will likely disappear at the next shedding. If it gets worse or if Peaches develops lethargy or decreased appetite, then have her examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles to diagnose injury or infection.

Thanks for reaching out about Dauntless. Clogged nostrils can be due to improper shedding or an infection/accumulated exudate. Try offering a warm water soak for 10-15 minutes and see if you can gently manually lift off the skin. Vitamin A deficiencies can play a part in shedding difficulty. Crickets, mealworms and other insects need to be properly gut-loaded to provide adequate nutrition. If problematic, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Good luck.

Thanks for reaching out about your gecko. Could it be a blister from a heat lamp? check heat lamps and how close your gecko can get to them (i.e. basking site on a branch). Maybe place a thermometer at that spot to check. Infections can also cause some blistering. If persists, a veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.
