Yes - as long as his most recent booster was given at four months of age or older, he should be considered fully vaccinated. He will need a rabies vaccine from your veterinarian when you get a chance to have this done, but in the meantime it should be fine for him to be around other dogs. Congrats on your new puppy! :)

It is best not to untilmbis shots are current. The other dogs being vaccinated simply protects them, it does not protect yours. They can still be exposed or carriers for disease without being affected themselves

Yes, it's fine to walk your puppy around your neighborhood, and to let him be around healthy, vaccinated dogs. Just avoid high-risk areas where lots of strange dogs tend to be, like dog parks and pet stores, until he's finished with his vaccination series :)

Hello, yes you can take your puppy out for walks however, you increase the likelihood that he may become sick. Because he has been vaccinated it makes it less likely, however, you should consider only allowing your puppy around other pets whom you know are fully vaccinated. We are most concerned with diseases such as Parvovirus, distemper, influenza, and kennel cough. If your 8 year old dog is current on vaccines, then yes, you can introduce them. Just keep the puppy away from any dogs with an unknown or incomplete vaccination history until he has been fully vaccinated at 16 weeks of age.

It is possible, although rare, for people to bring infectious agents into a home on shoes, clothes etc which a pup is not fully protected against until after the course has been completed and onset of immunity is generally a week or so after full vaccination. Similar to newborn children, general precautions of clean clothes and shoe, washing hands and avoiding contact with any owners of pets who have recently been unwell would be sensible. Do not take puppy to public areas or parks or mix with any dogs which are not fully vaccinated with up to date boosters.
