Should I switch my 3-month GSD from puppy starter to maxi food?

At 3months he should be able for dry food, if necessary to get him started you may wet with one cup of warm water. If wetted, it must be removed after 20mibs before it starts to ferment as his can cause diarrhea. I would not recommend adding milk as this alters the carefully balanced minerals in the diet and can also cause stomach upsets

The food looks good, however the starter diet is recommended for puppies up to 2 months of age, and if Bran is now five months old he should be switched to a different diet to meet his nutritional needs while he grows. It looks like Fidele offers a regular large puppy and lamb and rice puppy diet that would be appropriate to move Bran to until he is about a year of age, in which an adult diet should be given.

I recommend a large breed puppy food for your GSD puppy, and a medium breed puppy food for the 10 month old puppy. I can understand it may be a pain to have two separate foods, but large breed puppies have different nutritional needs due to their size. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I feed my own dogs Iams, and they love it. Good on you for taking them off the raw food diet! Best of luck.

I use the large breed adult food from 9 months on. I like the dogs to grow a little slower to prevent bone problems. Soska will reach her full size but it will just take a little longer with less bone and joint issues. Awww...Simba is adorable. Any diet change should be done gradually over the course of a week to avoid vomiting/diarrhea that can come from a sudden diet change. For the first 2 days feed a mixture of 75% puppy and 25% starter...for the next 2 days feed 50% puppy and 50% starter...for the following 2 days 25% puppy and 75% starter and then finally 100 % starter if there are no gastrointestinal signs during the week. Lifetime large breed dog food is formulated for all life stages, including puppies. Since he is already 60 pounds, you can begin to transition him to this diet at any time. Please switch diets gradually by mixing the old and new diets together for 5-7 days to ease the transition.
