What large breed food is best for my 9-month German Shepherd?

You need to buy Junior dry food for Soska. Junior food is an in between stage for growing dogs (large breeds), you should feed it at least until she is 12 months of age, after that you may switch to an adult formula.

I would continue her on a puppy food until she is 1 year old. At that time you can transition to to an adult maintenance food. When you transition her be sure to mix the old food with her new food for at least 7-10 days to help prevent an upset tummy. I hope this helps!

A diet consisting of primarily boiled chicken is not balanced and is lacking in vitamins, fatty acids, fiber and minerals. Proper nutrition, prevention of parasites and disease and genetics are what affects the over-all adult size. She may not get much bigger due to her age (the window of growth closes). I recommend to feed her Royal Canin German Shepherd Puppy until 15 months of age and then switch her to the adult version. Large or giant breed puppies should be fed an appropriate large/giant breed puppy diet until about 18 months of age. The reason being that they develop slower than other breeds. Many do not stop growing until around 2 years of age. Most above average and premium brands have a diet for large breed puppies. Brands include Canidae, Orijen, Acana and Taste of the Wild. Choose the diet that is easy to buy, that Sarge will eat and will not cause stomach upset. Personally, I'm not a fan of the BB line.
