What dry kibble is best for my large GSD and medium puppies switching from raw?

Choose a good quality food with a named protein source. Avoid meat meals and by products. Stay away from store or discount brands. These typically contain low quality ingredients an dmore fillers. I personally do not recommend Taste of the Wild due to recent recalls. I like to recommend any food from Royal Canin (in your case I would still feed puppy food Royal Canine Maxi Junior) for large dogs until the younger one is one year old) and then transition to adult food for large dogs. Hello. You are absolutely correct. The number of foods, & the claims they make are mind numbing. There is some truth that some breeds do seem to do better with certain diets, but in the case with GSD, the important thing is to not allow explosive growth due to their susceptibility to develop dysplasia. So, the RC food probably modifies calories, which is what is already done in any large breed puppy food. You can switch to the RC, but staying with the Hills Large Breed will do exactly the same thing. It is all, in this case, marketing & while I do love & recommend RC as well as Hills, I think RC is just pushing for more shelf space. And they do great photography with the breeds. At a month of age, Malia is just starting to eat solid foods and shouldn't be away from her mother yet (unless orphaned). I would find a wet food or puppy starter food that can be mixed in with kibble, or mix in Malia's puppy formula with it to make a slurry that is easy to eat. Any large breed puppy diet should be fine to give as long as it is complete and balanced. Grain-free isn't really necessary unless there is an allergy to the food, but allergies are not common in a one month old puppy.

Canidae, Acana, Orijen or Taste of the Wild are all premium diets. At her age, Nancyv should be eating a good quality food for large breed puppies. Stay away from store or discount brands as these foods typically contain low quality ingredients and fillers.

I use the large breed adult food from 9 months on. I like the dogs to grow a little slower to prevent bone problems. Soska will reach her full size but it will just take a little longer with less bone and joint issues. Commercial diet are balanced and offer all the nutrients Bruno needs. He is a large breed so continue to offer him puppy food until he is fully grown. If possible, do not mix honey or jam as an excess of sugar intake can be detrimental for his health. I would recommend diet formulated by Hill's or Royal Canin.
