My stray puppy is weak, not eating, and had parvo. What to do?

I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They can check for this or check if he has anything else going on. At 2 months of age, this has me worried that he may be battling an infection such as Parvo virus. He may also be dehydrated if he is weak and is likely in need of fluid therapy for rehydration. I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would have him parvo tested and have his blood tested to see if there are any other abnormalities. Subcutaneous fluids would certainly help him feel better and he may be so dehydrated the IV fluids may be the best option for him. It is difficult to say without examining him to see how severe he is. I hope this helps! The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. These types of conditions should not be treated at home. Raw egg does not prevent parvovirus. For this reason, I recommend that you have Saiko evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. She could have parvo. If this is a stray dog I suggest you either take her to your local animal shelter or call animal control to come pick her up so she can get treatment. If you want to keep her then I suggest you take her to your local vet for an exam. I know this one is a little ways from you but you could call them for advice. It sounds like your puppy is extremely sick, and parvovirus can take a few weeks for a dog to fully recover. It's very concerning he is not drinking as dehydration is the number one cause of death in these animals. He should see a vet again immediately, please take him into one now. Best of luck.

Poor guy. There are some complications that can arise from a pet having Parovivirus, and one of them is a condition called intussusception (folding in of the intestines). This is what I suspect may be going on with your pet Trap. He could also just have a really bad bacterial infection secondary to the parovirus and is in need of additional antibiotics. I typically put pets on Metronidazole and Cefazolin or Penicillin for total coverage. Talk to your vet about additional antibiotics. Also Trap could very well be shaking because he is in pain. Parvovirus causes sloughing of the intestines, which is uncomfortable for pets. Ask your vet about pain meds (i.e. Tramadol) for Trap.
